Dr. Kalasha Naidu Honored with Honorary Doctorate in Great Britain and Asia Icon Award 2024

His Excellency Shri. Maithripala Sirisena Former President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka personally attended this event and honored Dr. Kalasha Naidu as Asia Icon 2024.

Great Britain is known for its deep-rooted democratic values, and its Parliament building holds a special place in the world. Many dream of visiting this iconic landmark at least once in their lifetime, but even for celebrities in fields like politics, finance, arts, culture, technology, and cinema, entering this historic building is no easy feat. Yet, an 11-year-old girl from India, Kalasha Naidu, was invited as a special guest to the British Parliament, receiving a warm welcome from ministers and public representatives. She entered the esteemed building and received the title of “Globally The Youngest Social Worker” and an honorary doctorate in the presence of prominent dignitaries. During this rare occasion, she also delivered a two-minute speech in front of British parliamentarians.

Kalasha Naidu, the founder of the Kalasha Foundation, has been conducting numerous social service programs worldwide. In recognition of her efforts, the United Nations Global Peace Council (UNGPC) and the United States of America International University jointly awarded her the honorary doctorate and the title of “Globally The Youngest Social Worker.” This honor recognizes her dedication, compassion, and humanitarian work through the Kalasha Foundation.

Kalasha Naidu was welcomed with the utmost respect at the Palace of Westminster House of Lords in London, where she received the title and honorary doctorate in social work at the tender age of eleven. Her speech impressed British political leaders, intellectuals, and critics alike. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed regret for not being able to attend this rare and significant ceremony, further highlighting the importance of the event.

In addition to her achievements in Great Britain, Dr. Kalasha Naidu received the Asia Icon Award 2024 for her exceptional contributions to social work. She was honored at the Asia Icon Awards 2024 ceremony, held on the 26th and 27th of this month in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The event was graced by Sri Lankan Cabinet Ministers and She received the award from Shri. Maithripala Sirisena, Former President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Colombo Governor Senthil Thandaman, Foreign Minister Taraka Balasurya and Youth Affairs Minister Rohana Dishannayake participated as special guests in this honor program.
